Cryotherapy is a healthy option for adults that want to promote injury repair, relieve pain caused by arthritis, and improve flexibility and range of motion. This treatment has been practiced since ancient times in Greece and other countries. Many clients use this treatment to relieve pain from arthritis and improve flexibility and range of motion.


A cryosauna can also help individuals that play sports because the treatment it provides is similar to taking an ice bath, but a much more pleasurable experience. Injury users can have the treatment as often as twice a day to promote a higher metabolic rate, better circulation, and less inflammation. Many Chill Space clients find that they have more endurance when regularly using the cryosauna. Other health and wellness benefits include:

Cryotherapy - Cryosauna

Using the latest technology direct from Finland, our cryosauna pulsates nitrogen mist at a temperature of -220 degrees Fahrenheit. The three minute hyper-cooling process lowers the skin’s temperature to 30-40 degrees, accelerating muscle recovery and producing a rush of endorphins. Sessions are 10 minutes each.


Cryo Happy Hour is Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12:00 PM to 3 PM.

What is a Cryosauna?

A cryosauna is a specialized piece of equipment that holds nitrogen at minus 220 degrees Fahrenheit. The system pulsates and emits a fine mist of the nitrogen every few seconds until the external body temperature drops to between 30 and 40 degrees. The sudden drop in temperature triggers a chemical response from the body and increases blood flow to the surface of the skin. With regular use, using a cryosauna flushes out toxins with oxygen-rich blood. The body sends more blood and nutrients to the cold areas to protect them from freezing creating a tingling sensation and cleaning out the body on a cellular level.

Many of our clients find that they enjoy the rush of endorphins and feel-good chemicals when using our treatment room. Better blood flow helps the body rid itself of toxins allowing you to stay well and keep a healthy immune system. You may find that you have fewer colds and allergy symptoms. An overall feeling of wellness and euphoria is a typical reaction to the therapy. We recommend at least two therapy sessions at Chill Space each week to maintain results.

Some clients use our cryotherapy services to reduce facial swelling and to minimize fine lines and wrinkles across areas like the neck and under the arms. This treatment is known to boost collagen production, and pairs perfectly with our cryofacial treatments. The typical recommendation for the majority of our clients is to use our Cryosauna a couple of times a week. When healing injuries, we recommend everyday use for a week or more to heal faster.

Cryotherapy is an excellent choice for those who want the added health benefit of stress management. You will find that the rush of blood to the skin creates a tingling feeling. A burst of endorphins can make you feel less stressed and relieve body aches and pains. You may notice after a few treatments that you get a better nights sleep. Getting Ready for Your First Cryotherapy Treatment

  • When you use the cryosauna, you will change into a robe we provide along with socks, slippers, and gloves. Men should come with a change of these items along with a pair of shorts or briefs. Women will want to bring along the same items as well as a sports bra or a swimming suit to wear under the robe. Remember to leave any jewelry at home or in our locker during the session.
  • You will enter the cryosauna and experience several bursts of super cold nitrogen air that will gently wash across your skin and lower the body temperature. A Chill Space employee will set and adjust the system's computer and be with you during your treatment.
Cryotherapy is not a recommendation for pregnant women or for people who have untreated hypothyroidism, narrowing of valves, crescent-shaped aorta and mitral valve, chronic disease of the respiratory system, severe hypertension (blood pressure > 180/100), acute or recent myocardial infarction (heart attack, need to be cleared for exercise), arrhythmia, symptomatic cardiovascular disease, acute or recent cerebrovascular accident (stroke, must be cleared for exercise), uncontrolled seizures, fever, symptomatic lung disorders, bleeding disorders, infection, claustrophobia, intolerance to cold, incontinence, or be less than 18 years (parental consent to session needed).
